March 27, 2010, New Delhi: Taking a step towards making ‘Child Labour Free’ a global campaign, Bachpan Bachao Andolan organized an exhibition of Child Labour Free products at The Great British Fete in the British High Commission grounds.
Attended by diplomats, the campaign witnessed fervent participation from people with many of them interested in buying the products. Dozens of parents even instructed their children to sign their petitions against Child Labour. The youngest petitioner in the campaign is Josephine – a 7 year old British girl who didn’t know the meaning of Child Labour. After she was explained what it was, she connected it to slavery and realized that it is a grave issue. |
