New Delhi 12th February 2009 - The court has upheld the high ethics of justice and it has reaffirmed the public trust in the independence of judiciary. A Ghaziabad court framed rape and murder charges against businessman Maninder Singh Pandher and his domestic help Surender Koli in the Nithari serial killings in suburban Noida.
Kailash Satyarthi, Founder of Bachpan Bachao Andolan , Chairperson of Global March Against Child Labour said that "CBI must learn a lesson that if they have to maintain their image of the most respectful agency among the country men then they have to be more prompt and competent in their actions. We welcome the verdict of the judgment and hope that it will be countered productively. The judgment should be enforced without the long cumbersome judicial procedures because the kidnapping and trafficking of children is significantly increasing. According to Delhi police there are12511 children missing in Delhi itself and theses are the only cases which are registered. It is an alarming figure of only one city and no one knows how many Nithari's are under carpet." added Kailash Satyarthi.
BBA was the first organisation to put forward the issue in front of President and Prime Minister of India demanding CBI inquiry. BBA took out marches in which Hundreds of children including former missing children, social activists and concerned citizens assembled at Rajghat to pay tribute to the child victims of Nithari. Wearing black ribbons and holding placards they silently marched from Samta Sthal to Rajghat The protest was organised by BBA.
