| March 6, 2009: Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) has won a compensation of Rs. 1.5Lakh in the cases filed before the Regional Labour Commissioner (Central) Chandigarh for the minimum wages of bonded labourers rescued from stone quarries of Haryana. The case was filed against the Vijay Singh and company from where these bonded labourers were rescued. All these labourers hail from Chattisgarh and forced to work at the stone quarries without wages. This compensation amount of Rs. 1.5 lakh has been given to them through cheque today. |
