Rajni,
a girl aged 14 worked in the
pottery industry in U.P. For
a meagre sum of Rs 5-10, not
enough even for a single square
meal a day. She had no alternative
as she was a bonded labour
and her sole source of sustenance
was this paltry sum. She had
studied upto class 2 and after
the death of her father, she
along with her mother took
shelter at her maternal uncle's
place. Her uncle, exploited
her mentally as well as physically,
to the extent of rape. She
had to undergo an abortion.
The physical trauma led to
a very weak eyesight. |
