Her
mother died. Her father
remarried and her stepmother
would beat her. Kaushalya
escaped to be pushed into
another world of torture
and pain. She did not enjoy
working as domestic child
labourer. She was not paid
and to add to her problems,
her brother fell ill. The
debts mounted and Kaushalya
stopped going to school.
Once, she stumbled on the
Girls Collective, Rehabilitation
Center run by SACCS/BBA.
Kaushalya got rid of the
hell house where she used
to be beaten and tortured
mentally. Today she is happy
at (Girls Collective), her
life has changed. She is
learning tailoring. In future,
she wants to earn her own
bread and butter. She also
wants to inspire other children
to stop working and concentrate
on education.
