Babita
is all of 10. Innocence is
writ large on her face and
eyes. Her parents in dire
need of money sent her to
the house of one Seema Batra
of Delhi to work as a domestic
help. Seema promised to look
after her education in return
of giving company to her infant
daughter. However what befell
her was physical torture and
all kinds of cruelties at
the hands of her employer.
Her tender feet are charred
by acid burns. Her shocked
father complained against
Seema. She was taken into
police custody only to be

after learning of Babita's
pitiable condition is mounting
pressure on the police and
concerned authorities, so
that the offenders are brought
