New Delhi, Nov 14 (PTI) This children's day has a special meaning for 14-year-old Manan Ansari.
Not so long ago, the young boy used be a child worker, doing hard labour in a mica mine in Jharkhand. Now, he has been selected as a jury member for the 16th International Children's Film Festival that commences in Hyderabad today.
Manan is currently a resident of Bal Ashram in Jaipur, a rehabilitation-cum-training centre of child rights NGO Bachpan Bachao Andolan (Save the Childhood Movement) or BBA.
"This is a matter of great pride for us that Manan has been selected as a jury member. The team will decide on the best cinematic works from an international platform," BBA founder Kailash Satyarthi said.
During the week-long festival, 70 films from 20 countries will be screened in eight venues in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
