New Friends Colony, Main Market

Mukti Caravan sang songs on Child Labour and did a play on the same issue at New Friend’s Colony, Main Market area. More than 50 people turned up to see the play and around 15 people filed the petition. People were curious to know more about the campaign and many questions came from audience. They demanded the elementary information of the campaign and the organization behind it. The team members informed that Mukti Caravan is Bachpan Bachao Andolan’s theatre group which spreads awareness among society about grave issues of child labor and child trafficking for forced labour using traditional methods of communication. With the help of their act/play Mukti Caravan brings in public notice the condition of child labourers in our country and the incidents which happen with them. We also gave them an insight into BBA saying it is a movement devoted to liberate children from the shackles of bonded labor to give them a better future in which education plays a crucial role. We also informed them about our raid and rescue processes and BBA’s constant efforts for rehabilitating the rescued children. BBA activists who were accompanying the Caravan tried giving maximum information about the products which are made by children and requested everyone present to not buy the products made by child labourers.
